"Anfield is unbelievable. I wish we could play every two or three days at Anfield because it's always exciting to play in front of these fans".

"There are different reasons for it, for all of us, it's a long season and especially players who play for their national teams". We need to win it.

Liverpool are now fourth in the league, and a win over City will send them into third, as well as be a huge advantage in the race for a Champions League spot next season.

"We took a little time to find the cause, a lot of specialists were looking for it, then he was fit again and he got a knee in his back when we trained set-pieces".

Liverpool were fortunate to go into the half-time interval level with Burnley after Georginio Wijnaldum scored an equaliser deep in injury-time.

City are now level with Tottenham and Liverpool are a point back in fourth having played a game more than both. "He has had a few problems with a calf which we couldn't sort quickly enough". We really like him as a person and as a player.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp had already confirmed early in the week that midfielder and captain Jordan Henderson and striker Daniel Sturridge would be out for this weekend's trip to Manchester City.

"No chance", said Klopp.

Nevertheless, Luciano Spalletti will hope to keep hold of his star defensive ace if possible, with Manolas undoubtedly establishing himself as one of the best in his position in Serie A with his strength, speed and reading of the game all making him a stand-out player.

"It makes no sense to talk about it. Hopefully he can run in the second week of the worldwide break and then we will have to see". They were two wonderful games to watch and City could have won easily in the second half of the last game. All the injuries we had were different, different players had a few more during the season, ' he said.
