Tim Allen compares liberal Hollywood to Nazi-era Germany

Allen said that living in Hollywood right now is akin to living in Nazi Germany.

He made this comment Friday night on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on ABC, the network that airs Allen's hit sitcom "Last Man Standing".

The actor, who was clearly flustered by what he thought was a leading question, told Kimmel, "You gotta be real careful around here". "You get beat up if don't believe what everybody believes". "These guys know me so well that they're writing stuff that is exactly what I would've said".

Allen attended the inauguration as part of a group to honor veterans and went to the Veterans Ball.

It's really rough out there for a conservative working in Hollywood.

Probably best known for his 1990s sitcom Home Improvement, The Santa Clause series of holiday films and as the voice of cartoon space ranger Buzz Lightyear, Allen now stars on the TV comedy Last Man Standing.

This is not the first time Allen has discussed Hollywood's attitude towards Mr Trump.

In this context, Allen humorously noted that when some people in Hollywood hear he attended inauguration festivities, they have a negative reaction.

"I think it's amusing because Donald Trump is kind of in the spirit of old Greek tyrants where they used to vote in a guy that had no encumbrances", he told Fox411 in January a year ago. Aside from maybe Vince Vaughan and Mel Gibson giving a scowling look to Meryl Streep during her Golden Globes speech, most of Hollywood is super liberal and very anti Donald Trump. But if you had any inkling that you were for Trump, you got bullied for doing that. "And it gets a little bit hypocritical to me", he said.
