Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny has revealed he will require daily treatment on an achilles injury until the end of his playing career.

- Arsenal attempted 36 shots (including blocks) versus Sunderland, the most they've attempted in a Premier League since the start of the 2003-04 campaign.

But he is also having to work consistently on his ankle to keep himself fit and available for selection.

"So I don't know why suddenly it could become such a big problem".

Arsene Wenger's men now sit fifth in the table, three points behind fourth placed Manchester City and four off third placed Liverpool, on whom tonight's fixture is their game in hand.

"Hopefully that will last for a long time".

"If you are in any doubt, look at our season and compare that to Chelsea, Juventus and Atletico Madrid".

Sunderland, losers in nine of their last 12 games and relegated last month, were hardly a step up in class.

Arsenal's sixth win in their last seven games moved them within one point of fourth-placed Liverpool, but there was bad news from Eastlands where Manchester City beat West Bromwich Albion to retain their three-point lead over Wenger's team.

Wenger's contract expires this summer, although a two-year deal is on the table for the Arsenal manager.

The Gunners, who thrashed Stoke City 4-1 at the bet365 Stadium on Saturday to secure their third straight top-flight victory, are determined to finish in the top four in a bid to qualify for next season's UEFA Champions League.

Stops from Giroud, Iwobi and Mustafi in particular were superb, but Wenger says he's got plenty to choose from in the goalkeeping department. For the players, it is always an important competition.

Never totally convincing at the back, Arsenal were nearly breached against the run of play when Didier N'Dong tested Petr Cech, who then had to save from Jermain Defoe. It is very important for Arsenal to be with the best teams in the world.

It has been a particularly turbulent season for manager Wenger, whose future at the club has been called into question more than ever before. We had a hard period and we recovered from it.

"In an ideal world you want to rely on your own results". He has given a lot to this club during 20 years and done an unbelievable job so we need to respect this and we will respect his decision at the end of the season.
