"Rabbitohs captain Greg Inglis has entered a mental health rehabilitation facility", the Rabbitohs said on Wednesday night in a statement.

The 30-year-old Rabbitohs captain and Australia worldwide entered the facility last week, the club said in a statement on Wednesday morning.

Australia centre Greg Inglis has admitted himself into a mental health clinic, South Sydney have revealed.

The 30-year-old Rabbitohs captain, who is out for the season with a knee injury, entered the facility last week and will be undergoing a series of programmes and treatments to assist with his mental health, his club have said.

The dual-premiership winning fullback has played 242 games in the NRL and an incredible 30 matches of State of Origin for Queensland.

He also won premierships with the Melbourne Storm in 2007, where he was named Clive Churchill medalist, and 2009, but both were stripped following the club's salary cap scandal that saw them exceed salary cap spending to a collective total of almost $4 million.
