Back to Boston: LeBron, Celtics meet again in postseason

Johnson has started seven of the Celtics' 13 playoff games at the four, including Game 7 on Monday night.

This will mark the sixth time LeBron has faced the Celtics in a postseason series.

Boston were often vulnerable on the break against the Wizards, especially after turning the ball over, and the Cavaliers are similarly deadly. At least it would give the Cavaliers something to think about.

Jae Crowder #99 of the Boston Celtics drives against LeBron James #23 of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Dec. 14, 2015.

And when the game was over and the Celtics won, their energy was indeed a key part of the team's victory. The odds appeared to be working against Washington.

Two years later, he returned to Boston, scored 45 points in Game 7 of the conference finals and led the Miami Heat to the first of two consecutive titles.

Washington did come back, by defeating the Celtics 92-91 in Game 6, evening out the series 3-3.

Cleveland, 8-0 in the playoffs and 4-2-2 ATS, escaped with a 109-108 win over the Pacers to open the playoffs and trailed in by 25 points on the road in Game 3 before storming back for the victory. Take LeBron and the rest advantage out of it, the Boston Celtics are extremely tough to beat on their home court, and you know that crowd is going to show up in full force as usual. "Everybody on that team is playing at a high level". Horford said. "That's just the way it is".

While we have extolled the virtues of Celtics coach Brad Stevens for the energy and doing-more-with-less group, advancing to play the Cavs in the conference finals was essential.

But Game 7 in Cleveland belonged to the Cavs, 122-104, with Bird limited to 12 points in 33 minutes.

Olynyk was more than a big presence physically, as he stands seven-feet tall, he was a big presence on the court. So the Cavs are likely as healthy as they've been all year, but there's a point where there can be too much time off.

No other Washington player reached double figures, thereby highlighting the team's lack of options off the bench.

The Cavaliers won three of four against the Celtics during the regular season. They are not quite there yet. In fact, there were many around the league who thought that the upstart Wizards would knock Boston out in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have yet to need more than four games to dispatch a playoff opponent in the 2017 National Basketball Association playoffs.

So far it hasn't been much, with Cleveland posting back-to-back sweeps in the first two rounds.

Boston wants to put an end to James' streak.

The same could be said for the Cavaliers outside of Cleveland, who finished with a losing record on the road in the regular season (20-21), but Tyronn Lue seems to have figured out how to get his team playing well on the road, closing out two series on the road this postseason, and going 4-0.
