CW to reboot 'Dynasty,' '80s prime-time soap opera, in fall

"Arrow" moves to Thursdays to pair with "Supernatural".

Christina Ochoa and Matt Barr star as two U.S. Army helicopter pilots who must return overseas to help rescue their comrade (W. Tre Davis) from terrorists, all while being torn between their duty and desire for each other, of course.

CW said Thursday that the reboot will be one of four new series joining the network's schedule in the 2017-18 season. Pedowitz said he is "completely open" to inviting cast members from the original, such as Joan Collins, to appear on the new show.

Tuesdays once again see the pairing of The Flash and DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

Co-written by Josh Schwartz & Stephanie Savage and Sallie Patrick, the new Dynasty follows two of America's wealthiest families, the Carringtons and the Colbys, as they feud for control over their fortune and their children.

The CW will add two dramas next fall, including a female-centric reboot of the 1980s prime-time soap "Dynasty", with two more for midseason.

The CW's goal is a broader range of series that appeal to both women and men and across a wide range of demographics.

By the way, the new comic-book series for midseason, "Black Lightning", is not part of the "Arrow"-verse, so there will be no crossover with "Arrow", "The Flash", "Supergirl" and "DC's Legends of Tomorrow". The CW will also celebrate the holiday season with an exclusive telecast of the IHEARTRADIO JINGLE BALL; air dates will be announced at a later date.
