Wallace shot a 79 (37-42) on Wednesday, battling 30 miles per hour wind, to finish with a 1-over par 217 (68-70-79) on Purdue's par-72, 7,411 -yard Kampen Course.

The top five teams following Wednesday's final round advance to the 2017 NCAA Championships.

"The opportunity to play in the national championship is something I thought I'd only dream of", Wallace said.

The women's championship runs Friday through Wednesday at Rich Harvest.

I am not any sort of golfer, but I know the Kampen course is a tough one and the wind was rough today. The course calls for your best. He shot a 37 (+1) on the front nine - including birdies on the fourth, seventh and eighth holes. As a team the Lobos shot a 6 under par score of 282 in round two. UNLV, Auburn, Illinois, New Mexico and Purdue advanced as teams.

Hardy, a junior from Glenbrook North, tied for the individual title at 3-under 213 with New Mexico's Andrej Bevins.

North Carolina rallied Wednesday by posting a 3-under-par 277 total, making up seven strokes to surpass Tech, North Florida and Brigham Young and grab fifth place and the final qualifying spot. IL is hoping for some home state advantage, much like OR has a year ago when the Ducks knocked the Illini out in the match play round. "The wind was howling today, with gusts around 30 (mph), which made all shots so hard regardless of what direction you were going".

Wallace said Kralis "reminded me to stay patient and focused and hit shots". After starting the day with a par on the 607-yard, par-5 10th, he bogeyed the par-4 11th.

Three birdies on the back nine gave John Oda of UNLV the lead with two holes remaining, but he finished double-bogey to fall back to fifth. He then went on to make par on the par-4 14th.

Freshman Cooper Dossey contributed a 4-under 66 to move into third place at 6-under 134, which is the lowest 36-hole NCAA Tournament score in program history, breaking the previous record by four strokes. The Evansville, Ind. native birdied 15 and 17, a long par 3 playing into the wind. Pepperdine (835, -5) and Oklahoma (737, -3) each played even-par golf in the final round to finish third and fourth, respectively.

Wallace did just enough, playing the next eight holes at even par, so that even a bogey on the last hole was good enough to advance by one shot.

White finished the regional tournament with nine birdies.

"Trent faced some adversity finishing his opening nine, but he stayed patient and in the game, which showed his maturity", Kralis said. Play was suspended again due to lingering rain before all five MU players went off and eventually resumed around 12:30 p.m. local time. "I could not be more proud of how he handled himself and represented Illinois State".
