Johnny Depp: I'm willing to replace Alec Baldwin as Trump on 'SNL'

"We invited him to come when I hosted recently, but he refused to come, which is fine", Alec continued. But, as Ellen DeGeneres pointed out during a Thursday morning talk show segment with the "Pirates of the Caribbean" star, Depp's acting chops are nothing if not versatile.

"Well, I've seen Trump do Trump", said the actor. Depp reaped an Oscar bid when first took flight as Sparrow in the 2003 original that launched this moneyed series.

He even delivered a quick line for Ellen in Trump's inflection, saying "Nobody could be more presidential".

He told Extra's Mario Lopez in March: 'Trump just overwhelmingly lacks any kind of sportsmanship.

The actress says that after accepting the role, she feared she would be romantically paired up with a much older actor, and was "extremely relieved" when actor Brenton Thwaites, who plays the son of Orlando Bloom's character Will Turner, arrived on set.

Baldwin's impressions of the president are enormously popular. I thought, if this is the l- " he began, possibly meaning "last", before stopping himself and saying, "I want to make sure that we're delivering what we need to deliver to the people.

Luckily, Johnny Depp, who depicted Trump in a 2016 "Funny or Die" spoof, has volunteered to replace Baldwin should he choose to leave late-night comedy sketch show.

While his amusing or Die skit poked fun at the billionaire, he takes a more serious tone when discussing his policies while out of character. Now that's an impression we'd really love to see! There's a pretense. There's something created about him in the sense of bullydom.
