Jose Mourinho: Manchester United would exchange Europa League title for victims' lives

Jose Mourinho has told Ed Woodward it is up to him to deliver the players he wants at Manchester United.

Mourinho, a Uefa Cup victor with Porto in 2003 and two-time European champion, has now won all four of the major European finals he has contested.

"When you go into big matches you go happy and we didn't".

Ander Herrera, voted the man of the match, said the club had been suffering on Tuesday, but echoed Pogba's sentiments.

"We knew where they were better than us, we knew where we were better than them, we tried to kill their good qualities and exploit their weaknesses".

"I think it's so unfair what happened to him", Mourinho said of Ibrahimovic's injury lay-off.

With only 15 Premier League starts this past season, Wayne Rooney clearly isn't going to be first choice for Jose Mourinho next season.

They join Juventus, Ajax, Bayern Munich and Chelsea as the only clubs to have won the Champions League, the Europa League and the now defunct European Cup Winners' Cup.

Mourinho said if they could swap the trophy for the lives of the 22 who died they would obviously do it and "wouldn't think twice".

"I just have to make a decision in terms of a football decision, and that's what I'll do", Rooney said.

Whether Rooney will move back to Goodison Park or leaves the Premier League is yet to be seen, but what is clear is that Rooney has a big decision to make.

"We will learn a lot from it and we will become stronger, and, if we can keep this squad together, we will be stronger next season, for sure".

"Now it is like Ajax and some other clubs with every trophy in the world of football, so it means everything". "We're in the same position, in the Champions League, with two trophies". "It is just a football game and a trophy but if we can help and support with this just 1% it is enough for us". He can perfectly be here next season because he is always a very important player for us. "I am really happy with players after my most hard season as a manager".
