LeBron James Says Thinking About Playing Warriors in Finals Is 'Too Stressful'

The Nuggets, of course, missed the playoffs.

Durant's words to the Nuggets fan weren't a prediction. After the Cavs dropped Game 3 in Cleveland, then bounced back with a win in Game 4 despite some shaky moments, and to get the series-clinching Game 5 victory, the Cavaliers turned to their Big Three of James, Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving. You can call it the "threematch".

James elected not to talk about the Warriors following the game, choosing instead to celebrate a third straight conference title in Cleveland and his seventh consecutive Finals trip.

He has continued that success in the playoffs, exploding in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Boston Celtics to the tune of averaging 22.6 points and 12.4 rebounds per game over the five contests. However, Love is averaging an impressive tally of 17.2 points and 10.4 rebounds this postseason while shooting an impeccable.475 from the three-point range. I think you've found two great teams.

"Golden State has been the best team in our league for the past three years, and then they added an MVP". And the utter ease with which the latest iteration of this rivalry formed begs the question: Is such dominance in a 30-team league supposed to be this inevitable? "We want to go take back a championship, that's just the nature of a competitor and I think that's the mindset of everyone in this organization to go take back what they took from us". I started to focus myself on other players and other people around my neighborhood because I never thought that you could get to a point where Mike was.

"I don't care who you're playing, to make it to the NBA Finals, to win your conference finals, it's a big task", Brown said. When you're growing up and you're seeing Michael Jordan, it's nearly like a god.

The Warriors did their best to play down Lue's comments.

This feels like a sucker pick, since LeBron James tends to make any doubters look silly.

"It was taken, they took it", Green said. "It's kind of like the Michael Jordan era in the Eastern Conference". They've combined to play six series. Maybe so. But you can't much blame the Warriors or Cavs. Can James win his fourth ring? It couldn't have been that LeBron just had the occasional off night, no, he's way too superhuman for that. But we didn't. It happened. An Andretti driver has now won the 500 three times in the last four years, and five times overall dating to 2005 with the late Dan Wheldon. The team that had been built into a powerhouse organically with the shrewd draft selections of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green was suddenly a supervillain.

Durant's only other time in the Finals was 2012 when he was with Oklahoma City. Durant certainly wasn't the first player to seek an instant championship through free agency. It's been forgotten amid the praise of Cleveland's run to the NBA Finals, but the Cavaliers were 29th in the NBA in defensive efficiency after the all-star break - a two month stretch in which Cleveland ranked ahead of only the tanking Los Angeles Lakers.

Last season, the NBA Playoffs consisted of 86 games.

From the opening tip of Game 5, the Cavs basically played their greatest hits. "But we're going to enjoy this for a couple more days before we have to lock in on that juggernaut out west". "We don't go into any series saying we're only going to play four games, we can't approach a series like that, like, 'Yeah, we're going to play four.' You approach it with a mindset of, 'Of course we'd love to sweep them but you have to take that game by game'". But when you align three or four of the top 10 players in the National Basketball Association, those teams are hard to beat.

"I hope it's four". It always was going to be Warriors-Cavaliers, and the only potential pitfall was injury. "I don't know if I really want to change that much or if parity would be worth it when it comes down to the playoffs as you shift through the weak and the strong stay". More importantly, I think he'll play like it from the start this year (or at least he better), whereas last year he waited until the Cavs' backs were against the wall to really put his foot on the gas.
