City's lack of a killer edge, which Guardiola constantly bemoans, could have been punished when Albrighton almost equalised in the second half from a Jamie Vardy pass.

But Toure, whose deal expires at the end of the season, has impressed since winning his place back last November, making 29 appearances. "He is blocking my view, he goes for the ball". It doesn't even matter if he goes for it, he's interfering because I can't see the ball.

There was no doubt about City's second in the 36th minute.

The hosts doubled their lead seven minutes later, Gabriel Jesus sending Kasper Schmeichel the wrong way from the penalty spot after Sane was scythed down by Yohan Benalouane.

But Mahrez's scuffed effort was correctly ruled out as he kicked the ball against his standing leg and past Caballero.

Zabaleta, the last player signed before the takeover, said: "When I first came to Manchester I had the same feeling as I did in Barcelona at Espanyol: we were not the main club in the city".

"It was unbelievable, very lovely, unforgettable and a big mark in the Club's history after a long period of waiting", Silva said. "We have to look after our boots".

"We need one more game to be in the top four but it's in our hands. We know that it's going to be very tough physically".

Fernandinho has featured 30 times in the Premier League for Man City this season, while also being used a further 10 times in other competitions.

"Foxes manager Craig Shakespeare bemoaned his side's bad luck, but said: "(The referee) could bring it back for an encroachment from Manchester City, so there's a bit of injustice.

Fernando Llorente and Kyle Naughton were both on target for the Swans, with the Welsh outfit on 38 points with one game left, the same as Crystal Palace, which has a superior goal difference. It's added that he will have to accept reduced terms amid speculation of interest from West Ham United, but City are clearly confident that he will stay on as they will not plan a farewell for him at their final home game of the season this week. That is why he deserves the best last game here at home.

"We have not heard anything", Seluk said.

"At the end of the season, we will speak about this".

Fernandinho has no doubt that Guardiola is guiding City in the right direction, though, and is hopeful of holding off a late push from Arsenal to finish in the top four.
