WATFORD will begin their search for a ninth manager in just five years after announcing they will part company with Walter Mazzarri. There had nearly developed a stand off with Mazzarri and club legend Troy Deeney who found himself dropped from the starting line-up on a regular basis.

That match at Vicarage Road will be Mazzarri's last as Hornets boss after the club confirmed they are parting ways with the Italian.

The managerial roundabout at Watford continues to spin, following official confirmation from the club that Walter Mazzarri will relinquish his role at the end of the current Premier League season.

Mazzarri was appointed a year ago but, despite managing to save Watford from relegation, this has still been a very hard campaign for the Hornets. "We're thoroughly looking forward to working with such a highly-regarded coach, with the progress and development of the club always remaining the highest priority".

He started just two of the 19 games where he was fielded this season, coming on as a substitute in seventeen games.

And the Hornets have wasted no time in targeting the Portuguese coach following their decision to axe Mazzarri yesterday.

WALTER MAZZARRI has been sacked by Watford and will leave at the end of the season.

Troy Deeney has not seen eye to eye with his boss and was expected to leave the club in the summer.

Despite achieving the all important figure of 40 points, Watford have won just five league games in 2017, losing eleven, along with their last five.

Mazzarri had been hopeful that he would be given sufficient time to turn Watford's fortunes around.

This is according to Sky Sports News HQ, who understand Walter Mazzarri will take charge of his final match against Manchester City on Sunday.
