With FIFA U-17 World Cup less than five months away, India's concern about last-minute scramble for infrastructure completion are increasing as the hosts try to avoid the similar situation which happened in 2010 ahead of Commonwealth Games.

Tournament director of the Local Organizing Committee, Javier Ceppi made the announcement at a press conference here after inspecting the works being carried out in the stadium and the training sites here.

Doubts were raised regarding Kochi's readiness to host the U-17 World Cup after Federation Internationale de Football Association officials pulled up the state administration in March for their tardy pace of work. And this time, the work has been completed on the second time of asking. Kolkata: The city has once again lived up to its reputation of being the country's premier sports-loving city with the first bunch of tickets for the Federation Internationale de Football Association under-17 World Cup matches at Salt Lake Stadium getting "sold out" within 18 hours of being made available online.A limited number of venue packs - tickets for all matches at a particular venue - for all six cities went on sale at 7.11pm on Tuesday.

According to Ceppi, tickets were launched at 60 per cent discount in limited inventory to assess the football passion across the six World Cup venues. I don't know who has said that Koch was demoted.

Kochi to host one pre-quarterfinal, a quarter-final and six qualifying matches. Ceppi also dismissed reports that suggested the city didn't get to stage a semifinal or final game because of its slow preparation. "Among that, direct air transport with the final venue is extremely important", he said.

"The stadium is fit for accommodating 41,748 people".

They further noted that the matches played in Kochi so far were conducted without adhering to the specified safety measures. Like, we have been given a written assurance that the shops around the stadium would be closed.

"Due to security issues, the third tier of the stadium will not be used as it will not be possible to evacuate the entire stadium in eight minutes". He also said that the tournament organisers will make sure that the shops surrounding the stadium will be shut ten days before the start of the tournament.
