Irving took over in the second half and finished with 42 points, LeBron James added 34 and the Cleveland Cavaliers moved within one win of an nearly inevitable third date in the Finals with Golden State by rallying to beat Boston 112-99 on Tuesday night in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals.

James, who went 13 of 18 from the floor, 4 of 7 from 3-point range, hit a 3-pointer with 2:41 left in the third quarter to pass Michael Jordan and become the NBA's all-time leading playoff scorer.

With victory in the bag, he sat out the fourth quarter as the Cavaliers routed the Celtics 135-102 to clinch the best-of-seven series 4-1, and set up a third successive championship series against the Golden State Warriors.

For the third straight year they'll face the Warriors for the crown. "We just need him to be aggressive all the time". Their consolation prize is, they won the NBA Draft Lottery and will have the number one pick on June 22 and a shot to select their LeBron James.

With 40 more points, James could also become the first player in National Basketball Association history to score 6,000 points in the playoffs.

Irving's shot not only proved to be the championship-winner, it was later deemed "the biggest shot in National Basketball Association history" by the Wall Street Journal. Kyrie Irving's overall efficiency is down, as is his assist rate.

He said his goal is not about passing Jordan in titles, points or MVP awards. Despite rolling his ankle in the third quarter, Irving finished with 42 points, including a five-minute stretch where he dropped 19 in another playoff defining moment. Williams served as a key facet of the Cavs offense during the second quarter, scoring all 14 points in that period.

Irving scored 12 points in the quarter with James on the bench to save Cleveland from a blowout. As insane as it sounds, going into halftime, we had cut it to at least a manageable number.

After signing Al Horford in the offseason - the biggest free agent acquisition in the history of the NBA's most-decorated franchise - the Celtics rode him and Thomas to the No. 1 seed in the East.

But beyond James' foul trouble, the Cavs were having other issues as the Celtics outplayed them at both ends while opening a 16-point lead.

James, Irving and Love took command from the opening tip-off on Thursday. Avery Bradley has battled through hip pointers on each side of his body since the Washington series in Round 2.

"We just came in here with a mindset that we didn't want to play any more games", James said.
It's one more team that you probably would've thought would've been a contender.

LeBron James hit 34 points to help the Cavaliers to a comeback win to move within one win of an nearly inevitable third date in the Finals with Golden State. We have to go in with a bunker mentality that we had in Game 1 and Game 2 to go out and do what we do, but we have to defend.
