Shruti Haasan graces Cannes Film Festival with 'Sangamithra'

In preparation for her role, Shruti has been training in sword fighting in London over the last few weeks.

The latest buzz is that Sunder C is the director behind the project making the film with a budget of 150 crores. This project is touted to be one of the most expensive projects of Kollywood.

Cannes 2017 is extra special for multitalented actress Shruti Haasan, Jayam Ravi and Arya as the first look poster of their upcoming mega budget film "Sangamithra" was released at this film festival.

"I was so glad to have this opportunity to learn a new physical art form".

Chennai: Ulaganayakan Kamal Haasan's daughter Shruti Haasan is also doing the role of a warrior princess like Tamannah did in Baahubali sequences. Sangamithra is a story which backpedals to 8th century AD, telling the hardships of Sangamithra, whose beauty is unbelievable, and her trip to save her kingdom. "Oscar-winning composer A. R. Rahman also graced the 70th edition of Cannes Film festival to unveil the trilingual magnum opus 'Sangamithra". Messy hairdo, clutch and heels rounded her look. She shared a photograph with music maestro Rahman and wrote, "Cannes day one begins!" The much-anticipated film will be made in two parts.
