Tornadoes in Wisconsin, Oklahoma leave 2 dead

He estimated the park had around 50 homes. The governors of Wisconsin and Oklahoma toured the destruction in their states Wednesday, and residents were allowed to sift through the wreckage. More than 200 first responders have been on the scene assisting in the last 24 hours. The department told residents to stay home because power lines were down across the city.

The National Weather Service in Norman has not yet released information about the strength of the tornado, but tweeted early Wednesday that it will be surveying the damage.

Authorities say at least 40 homes were destroyed. The National Weather Service reported it touched down in the area just after 5:30 p.m. A tornado killed a man in Wisconsin.

A tornado touched down in Rusk County, located in northwest Wisconsin. The storm also brought numerous reports of large hail and strong winds.

Barron County: County officials have declared a State of Emergency.

One person died at the mobile home park, the Wisconsin Emergency Operations Center said in a statement late Tuesday. A tornado in northwestern Wisconsin destroyed a mobile home park, killing one man.

The storm knocked out telephone service into and out of the city.

Cain said no injuries or damage are reported.

Chetek Mayor Jeff Martin also said several turkey barns in the area were hit hard.

National Weather Service meteorologist Rick Smith says two supercells began in the Texas Panhandle on Tuesday then moved into Oklahoma.

Danny Ringer, spokesman for the city between Oklahoma City and Amarillo, Texas, said there were multiple injuries, but he didn't give a specific number. Fifty-three-year-old Bo Mikles was killed as he was apparently fleeing his home when his vehicle was thrown several hundred feet.

The Tulsa and Oklahoma City metropolitan areas are in the "enhanced", or middle category, for severe weather, according to the prediction center.

The tornado damaged the Prairie Lakes Estates trailer park north of Chetek.

Rescue crews, fire, police, and state patrol were at Barron County and neighboring Rusk County.

The Red Cross and Salvation Army are assisting those who lost their homes.

Another tornado struck a rural area in western Oklahoma around 7.15pm just south of Elk City, about 110 miles west of Oklahoma City.

Seever said that Gavin worked at the turkey farm across the road from his mobile home that was also slammed by the storm.
