Unseasonably warm temperatures to make for summer-like week

Wednesday is expected to bring sunny skies, with a high near 88. The weather service says highs will begin that climb above normal with readings reaching the upper 70s to low 80s in most areas. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65.

There is a 30 percent chance for rain, mostly after 5 p.m.

High pressure will drift to the south of the area during Tuesday and set the stage for increasing temperatures and humidity through the mid-week period.

Hail and high winds were reported in central Kansas and tornadoes and large hail were reported in southwest Kansas on Tuesday. Wind: SE 10-20 miles per hour. Southeast wind of 5 to 15 miles per hour.

Sunday's forecast is mostly sunny, with a high of 71, the weather service said.

Tonight's low will be around 67, with a south wind of 15 to 17 miles per hour, gusting as high as 29 miles per hour, according to the weather service. South wind around 5 miles per hour.

Friday, there is a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 p.m., the weather service said. Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

WEDNESDAY: A 30% chance for showers and storms in the morning, then partly cloudy, windy, and hot. Partly cloudy, with a low around 57.
