Warriors become just the 5th team to start NBA playoffs 10-0

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich lambasted Pachulia, deeming the close-out "dangerous" and "unsportsmanlike". Accordingly, the national media nearly unanimously predicted the Golden State Warriors would prevail in the best of 7 series of the NBA Western Conference Finals.

The scheduling of the 2017 NBA Playoffs is the only good piece of luck the Spurs have gotten this week. But the Spurs wouldn't win another game as the Thunder beat San Antonio four straight times to claim the Western Conference title. Leonard missed Tuesday's Game 2 loss and remains questionable for Saturday's Game 3 at San Antonio.

MRI results on Leonard's ankle revealed no structural damage.

Popovich was taking a stand, he was performing some playoff theater, he was trying to prod his players into something special in Game 2... and what he got was a bunch of Spurs who probably realized that Popovich was so angry because Leonard is so valuable.

"I'm not sure, I mean, it's still not ready", Leonard said. "It just depends on how the ankle heals".

"Definitely, but we're eight games away from our ultimate goal", Leonard said. We know going down 3-0 will be really tough to overcome so Game 3 is huge.

Leonard has hurt his ankle multiple times in the past week. Cleveland won a six-game series with Toronto but fell behind Golden State 3-1 in the NBA Finals before LeBron James and Kyrie Irving rallied the Cavaliers to the title.

But this is the same Spurs roster that annihilated the Rockets in Houston not long ago to clinch that second-round series, and the Warriors were all too aware of this.

Leonard did not participate in Thursday and Friday workouts but was at the team's practice facility in preparation for the game at AT&T Center in San Antonio. The Warriors have been utterly dominant since then, outscoring the Spurs 194 to 133.

The Spurs led by 23 points when Leonard was forced to leave Game 1 in the third quarter. Headed into Game 3, he said he thinks that's changed. Golden State's offense has exploded since the victor of the last two Defensive Player of the Year awards went down.

The lawsuit, which was filed in Bexar County district court in Texas and names Juan Vasquez and a local memorabilia store as co-plaintiffs, states Pachulia acted "without excuse or justification, intentionally and maliciously invaded the landing zone of an opposing athlete, Kawhi Leonard".
