Asked to reflect on a hugely turbulent 10 months, Allardyce said: "You can look and move on with your life and say "Look what's happened at Crystal Palace and what can be built for next year".

While the two aren't getting any younger and aren't up to scratch with what Pep Guardiola wants for the future at the Etihad Stadium, there's no denying that the French internationals would be two very decent signings for Palace, and they are said to be on the list of targets for Allardyce.

"He (Zaha) loves Palace. he is flourishing, getting a lot of publicity and, of course, with a bigger contract there is a bigger responsibility".

The Ivory Coast global has enjoyed his most productive Premier League season yet, contributing directly to 16 goals and seeing his name linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.

Zaha has thus far scored seven goals and provided 11 assists in 34 Premier League games this season and his impressive performances have also attracted the interest of Arsenal and Manchester City.

Crystal Palace are considering making a move for Manchester City duo Bacary Sagna and Gael Clichy.

Pochettino is intent on bolstering his Tottenham squad with new additions in order to compete both domestically and in the Champions League next year, but the Argentine must look elsewhere as he bids to improve his attack.

Crystal Palace are hopeful they can strike a deal with Liverpool to sign defender Mamadou Sakho on a permanent basis now they have avoided relegation. "Trying youngsters out in pre-season". The XI that play at Stockholm would probably not feature at all in this last game.

"If you get new contracts, more money, you've got to deliver more, show your worth".

At a news conference, Allardyce said there was "no doubt" that the fixture should have been moved and added: "They could easily have changed it last week and said: 'We will give you the best chance to try to win the Europa League'".

"Then we can stop paying all these people money for them to do rubbish situations in the game". They don't want me to leave them out. It's a job we need to do and hopefully we can go there and do it.
