Authorities in Ottawa County, Michigan say at least 14 people were injured when a deck collapsed at a venue in a West Olive park.

Ottawa County dispatchers say they received a call shortly after 7 p.m. reporting a deck collapsed in the 15000 block of Polk Street in Port Sheldon Township. Kempker said none of the injuries are considered life-threatening. The most serious, he said, may have been a fracture.

"A lot of kudos to the staff of North Ottawa for stepping right up right away", Kempker continued.

The incident occurred Thursday evening at Weaver House, a renovated house built in 1902 that is rented out for events. The cause of the collapse is not yet known.

Weaver House will probably be closed for a time as the collapse is investigated and an engineer checks out the structural integrity of the house, the sheriff said.
