Celebrate 2017 National Doughnut Day With Free Treats

At Tim Hortons, all you need to do is buy one of their delicious coffees, mention National Doughnut Day, and walk away with some free food.

Cumberland Farms newly renovated convenience stores are giving out free doughnuts to customers who buy a hot or iced coffee, tea, fountain soda, or HYPERFREEZE drink between 5 am and 10 am this morning.

Dunkin' Donuts: Get a free classic doughnut with the purchase of any beverage.

Just walk in there, jostle other freeloaders out of the way and grab yourself one free donut.

Friday, June 2, is National Donut Day - actually, the first of two doughnut holidays on the calendar (the other is November 5).

The Chattanooga Salvation Army will celebrate the 80th Annual National Donut Day on June 2 by delivering donuts to local fire, police, city officials, and armed forces units as a way to say "thank you" for their service.

Doughnut Plant customers can get a free carnival sprinkles mini cake doughnut with any purchase. Hungry donut fans can pick any item from the menu for free.

The unofficial holiday started in 1938 when the Salvation Army wanted to do something to honor its "Doughnut Girls" according to the organization's website. Stores will also offer a 25 percent discount to customers throughout the day on all items except furniture.

National Donut Day 2017 marks a century since the work of the original "Donut Lassies" in World War I.

Busken Bakery (Ohio) will have free glazed doughnuts in the morning while supplies last. Bring your receipt to your next visit and receive a free half dozen doughnuts with purchase of the same order.
