'Game of Thrones' Season 7 Trailer: 'The Great War Is Here'

Unlike the previous six seasons, which all premiered in March or April of their respective years, the upcoming season 7 isn't slated to hit HBO until July 16.

Both teasers end with a close-up of the eye of a White Walker, suggesting this will be the season when winter finally comes to Westeros (AKA, the "Game of Thrones" characters are finally going to have to deal with the murderous, almost invincible White Walkers).

Elsewhere in the trailer, Daenerys Targaryen boasts how "I was born to rule the seven kingdoms, and I will".

There will only be seven episodes in season 7, but if the trailer is anything to go by, they might be the most action-packed seven episodes in the history of the show.

The other interesting photo is of Arya (Maisie Williams) on horseback - and judging by her heavy cloak, she's heading north.

"We're the last Lannisters", she says. A theory making the rounds suggests that after the death of her son in the last season, she will go on to become what we will call "The Mad Queen". "If we don't put aside our enmities and band together we will die", says Ser Davos.

The haunting clip released today indicates inevitable doom for Cersei (played by Lena Headey) as her enemies plot to take her Iron Throne.

No mention (or sight) of the White Walkers, but don't worry-like winter, they're coming too.

But more images of battle follow, along with an eye-popping glimpse of a dragon soaring in the sky above a charging force.

The trailer ends with Jon announcing that "the Great War is here" and it fades to a black screen filled with anticipation.

If you think the trailer moves fast, wait until the new season.
