Everton were linked with making a £30 million move for Celtic striker Moussa Dembele during this window.

The youngster has been a revelation after scoring goals for fun since joining Celtic from Fulham on a free transfer last summer and a host of Europes top clubs, including Real Madrid, are known to be interested.

The Sun claim Everton are now targeting the Frenchman as a direct replacement for Romelu Lukaku, but a number of Premier League rivals have also expressed an interest, not least including Manchester United and local rivals Liverpool.

With the likes of Tottenham and Everton also being interested in the France under-21 worldwide, Celtic will have a tough time on their hands trying to convince him to stay at Parkhead.

Niasse has endured an extremely hard time since joining the Toffees, being exiled from the first-team following Ronald Koeman's arrival and subsequently spending the latter half of last season out of loan with Hull City.
