The Leader also branded the remarks by US officials as "gibberish", noting "the uttering of gibberish by the USA president is not a new issue because the Islamic establishment has faced various plots since its inception but the ill-wishers of the Iranian nation have not succeeded to do a damn thing".

The US side again showed that it could not be trusted, he said.

On June 15, the US Senate voted for a legislation to impose non-nuclear sanctions on Iran for its disputed ballistic missile programs.

The Leader made the remarks in a meeting with families of martyrs of the Iranian Army, Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and police force on Sunday.

Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said the U.S. regime change policy regarding Iran is doomed to failure, saying successive United States administrations have sought to overthrow the ruling establishment for almost four decades but all the attempts were in vain.

Ayatollah Khamenei spoke to remind the audience that old challenges have never broken the Islamic establishment.

Referring to recent remarks by American officials about changing the Iranian government, the Leader noted, "They say we want to change the Islamic Republic establishment".

"Throughout the previous 38 years, when have you not wanted to replace the Islamic establishment, but you have always failed and been given a lesson and this will also be the case henceforth".

The Leader added, "Everyone, whether the enemies, honest allies and friends whose hearts throb at times, should know that the Islamic Republic is standing firm and with absolute power".

"You see that since the outset of the revolution, these people who wished elimination of the Islamic Republic are now in the abyss of Hell and have left this world without having achieved their goal", the Leader added.

The Islamic Republic stands with full authority, and after this, it will be the same, the Leader added. "Part of the great security we have today is thanks to Border Guards; these courageous Border Guards and Martyrs are not given the attention they deserve".

"The people must acknowledge their (defenders' and border guards') great service to them (the people)".

He stressed on the realities of Iraq and Syria, crediting Iran's defense for pushing them away. "In Syria, if the work done by our valued commanders had not been carried out, we now had to fight very close to home". Another reason for our security is due in great part to our border guards. "Service is not just providing water and bread; above all, it is security", Ayatollah Khamenei concluded.
