Jared Kushner speaks; Washington takes notice

After listing examples of backward technology in government, such as the Pentagon's use of floppy disks, he said their main goal is to improve the day-to-day lives of average citizens. "That's a core promise and we are keeping it".

Kushner's speech, which was delivered with quiet force, represented an apogee of his brief political career. Along with his team in the Office of American Innovation, he had put together a four-hour series of working sessions with some of the most successful executives in Silicon Valley. However, plenty of people were more distracted by how he sounded than what he was actually saying. This is consistent with the Trump administration's talking points on the matter.

Given the positive relations President Donald Trump has established with all the major players in the region, it will be hard for them to turn down any request he and his emissaries make as they try to restart bilateral negotiations, Shapiro, who served as president Barack Obama's ambassador here from August 2011 until January 2011, said hours after the White House announced it was sending two top officials to try to jump-start talks. "I believe the president is at the point of his maximum leverage right now", Shapiro said during a conference call organized by The Israel Project. Despite his White House role, Kushner has remained in the background, not appearing on television for interviews or tweeting, even though he has a verified account. In the meantime, Kushner is taking steps for what may come sooner.

Unlike his father-in-law or his wife, Ivanka Trump, however, Kushner has kept a low profile.

Kushner did not, however, discuss recent reports that he is mulling whether to change-up his legal team in the face of investigation into the Trump administration's ties to Russian Federation. Reuters reported that the White House has been holding behind-the-scene talks since Trump's visit at the end of May, which reportedly was planned by Kushner.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Jared Kushner spoke in public on Monday.

Greenblatt is scheduled to arrive in the Middle East on Monday, while Kushner will reach on Wednesday, according to the White House official, who detailed the trip on the condition of anonymity.

Others took it to the next level and changed Kushner's voice completely.

"Together, we will unleash the creativity of the private sector to provide citizen services in a way that has never happened before". But it is also a smart strategy for Kushner.

The White House communications blitz on his agenda certainly helps reinforce that these issues take time, weeks and months and years, in some cases, to work through. "But it is true that if the investigation drags on for a long long period of time, and there begin to be questions raised about the future of the administration, that will contribute to a lessening of his leverage".
