Basically, Fedor Emelianenko and Matt Mitrione simultaneously knocked each other out at Bellator NYC on Saturday. It was nearly a double KO, but Mitrione was able to recover first to earn the win. They knocked each other down.

Mitrione and Emelianenko had just started to warm up when the action got wild. Emelianenko (36-5) bent forward and tried to grab hold of Mitrione's lower body to slow him down. As for Mitrione, he may very well be in line for a heavyweight title shot.

The fight started with both men looking for openings until both unleashed - at the exact same moment. "So I switched it up with him, and maybe I confused him".

The fight was rescheduled from February, when Mitrione pulled out of their Bellator 172 main event in San Jose on the day of with kidney stones.

Rather than agree to a change in opponent, Emelianenko, of Russian Federation, elected to reschedule the Mitrione bout. When Emelianenko went limp and sagged to the canvas, the fight was over.

A former UFC veteran, Mitrione is now 3-0 since signing with Bellator, with knockouts over Carl Seumanutafa, Oli Thompson and Emelianenko. Hague recently tragically died after a boxing knockout.
