So, with the 42 new titles and the most powerful console ever, gamers couldn't have asked for more from Microsoft.

I reached out to Microsoft's press relations in an attempt to clarify HDR support on Xbox One X. My question asked specifically whether Dolby Vision was supported and was told instead that HDR10 would be.

Microsoft has revealed its latest games console, the Xbox One X, which will ship on 7 November and cost £449 in the UK. The new system will also boast a GPU that is far more powerful than the one inside the Xbox One. They successfully excelled the Xbox One by 20-to-1, according to industry trackers. While it can power any games meant for the Xbox One and Xbox One S, the Xbox One X can also power true 4K gaming. Microsoft was willing to take their time to sure they delivered on their promise while Sony announced the PlayStation 4 Pro in September of 2016 and launched it only weeks later, Microsoft played the long game.

While that graphical processing power will see the console compare very positively with gaming PCs in the same price range, it may struggle to help Microsoft win market share from Sony.

The improved hardware will run games at 4K resolutions while targeting better performance than was possible on older Xbox One models. Destiny 2, Call of Duty: WWII and Federation Internationale de Football Association 18 are all games that haven't yet been confirmed to look best on One X. 4A Games are working on Metro: Exodus for the Xbox One X and there will also be a new Assassin's Creed entitled Assassin's Creed: Origins. Today, I'm pleased to announce an exciting expansion to the [Backward Compatible] program: "Our team of engineers is working hard to bring you some of your favorite original Xbox games to today's Xbox One library".

Another Xbox console exclusive, Crackdown 3 is set to launch alongside the Xbox One X in November.
