Mirwaiz hails Pak win, Gautam Gambhir says 'cross the border'

Srinagar, Jun 19 Widespread celebrations erupted in Kashmir following pakistan's win against arch-rival India in the Champions Trophy final at Oval, with separatist leaders congratulating the neighbouring country for clinching the title.

"Gambhir's tweet came after Farooq congratulated the Pakistan Cricket Team on their victory over Team India in the ICC Champions Trophy final held on Sunday".

The Kashmiri separatist leader in his tweet claimed that Pak's victory was also celebrated by the people in his neighbourhood.

A twitterati shared pics depicting celebrations by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and others in the Valley.

In the initial tweet by Farooq, he said, "Fireworks all around, feels like an early Eid here".

Earlier, Mirwaiz tweeted a congratulatory message to the team, invoking a strong response from cricketer Gautam Gambhir. Gautam Gambhir also offered to help him pack.

Meanwhile, fans of the Indian Cricket Team have not been pleased with India's defeat and the locals in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur and Uttarkhand's Haridwar broke their TV sets and protested after Pakistan's win. U will get better fireworks (Chinese?), Eid celebs there.

Before losing the final match of the Champions Trophy, India had defeated Pakistan comfortably in one of the qualifying matches.
