Real Madrid president Florentino Perez says he has yet to speak with Cristiano Ronaldo regarding speculation that the star forward wants to leave Spain after being accused of tax fraud.

This news follows reports of Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo potentially facing tax fraud charges himself.

Jose Mourinho's advisers have hit back at accusations that the Manchester United manager failed to pay millions of euros in taxes to the Spanish authorities during his time in charge of Real Madrid.

The four-time world player of the year, who said last week his "conscience is clear", is threatening to leave Madrid over the affair, according to Spanish and Portuguese media. Both Ronaldo and Mourinho are clients of football super-agent Jorge Mendes, who has been summoned to appear before the court at Pozuelo de Alarcon, just outside Madrid, on June 27.

He has led Madrid to back-to-back Champions League titles and its first Spanish league in five seasons this year, and helped Portugal to win last year's European Championship.

Prosecutors accuse the Portugal global of evading tax via a shell company based in the British Virgin Islands and another in Ireland, known for its low corporate tax rate. The player is accused of defrauding tax authorities of €14.7m, by also hiding his income from image rights.

That's the opinion of Arsenal hero Ray Parlour who believes the Real Madrid star would be a great addition to the Premier League.

The newspaper also suggested Perez's defence of him has turned Ronaldo's head and persuaded him to stay at the club this summer, leading with the headline "Cristiano Reconsiders".

Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for Ronaldo in recent days amid reports that the Portugal worldwide wants to quit Spain this summer. "We've not received offers for him (Ronaldo), Morata or James".

Portuguese sports daily A Bola had also claimed that Perez had already been informed of his decision. He said: "I know him and he's a top professional and person and all this is very odd". "But something really freakish would have to happen if he were to leave this club".
