National Campaign Urges Trump to Pressure Qatar Over Terror Support

Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates severed ties with Qatar on June 5, officially accusing Doha of supporting terrorism and destabilizing the region. This list will surely include Doha's hosting and supporting the 59 individuals and 12 entities named in the recently announced list of terrorism.

Turkey has stood with Qatar throughout the crisis and last week Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan denounced the isolation of Qatar as "inhumane and against Islamic values", and said the methods used against the Gulf state were unacceptable, and analogous to a "death penalty".

Qatar's ambassador to the USA accused the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia of committing the same sins they're boycotting his country for, as the worst crisis between Gulf Arab monarchies enters its third week. Saudi Arabia says around 250,000 Saudis visited Turkey previous year. The pair are now heading back to Turkey. And the United States government recently attested that Doha had been making progress - however modest - in the fight against terror financing. "The ordeal lasted almost 10 hours during which we faced multiple interrogations and lock-up", he said, expressing gratitude to the Turkish authorities for solving the issue.

Despite the clear illegitimacy of the website, Malta's new foreign affairs ministry made a decision to issue a statement to banish any doubts.

Some analysts fear that Turkey's stance on the Qatari crisis could backfire and damage its own interests by angering a number of Sunni-dominated Arab countries. "Qatar has to be brought around, put out of business or absorbed".

The Qatari government communications director, Sheikh Saif, said Saudi, Emirati, and Bahraini families had been "forcibly recalled" on Monday by their governments despite being invited to stay by Qatar.

Saudi Arabia and Egypt named the Muslim Brotherhood as a terror group, while it is not blacklisted as such by many others, including Qatar and Turkey, as well as the United Nations.

He highlighted that Saudi Arabia's hosting of the historic Arab Islamic American Summit brought together the USA and a number of Muslim and Arab countries with the aim of better dialogue between Arab and Islamic countries and their counterparts in the West.
