Those who own the Nextbit Robin smartphone will be delighted to find out today that there's a new software update rolling out for their handset.

In addition to the regular Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS for Nextbit Robin, the company has also updated the Razer Insider website with a factory image of the update. The device was already updated to Android 7.0 Nougat a couple of months back and now it's receiving an update to the latest version of Nougat.

Now, a factory image of Android 7.1.1 is available on the Razer forum for the Nextbit Robin. However, against all odds, the Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS for Nextbit Robin is indeed rolling out.

The Nextbit Robin burst onto the scene almost two years ago with promises of a handset that would get better over time. So, it may take a while for the update to hit your device. One can also manually check for the update by going to Settings - About Phone - Software Update. However, to many people's surprise, the phone is now receiving an update for Andorid 7.1.1. Also, speaking of security, the update contains all the Android security patches until April 1st. For extended battery life, Android Nougat comes with "Doze on the go" which will get activated even if your Nougat running device is in your pocket. The Robin is powered by a 1.44GHz hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor coupled with Adreno 418 GPU and 3GB RAM. The Nextbit Robin comes with 100GB of free cloud storage space. This 4G smartphone has Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. The Robin has a 13-megapixel camera on the rear with phase detection autofocus and dual-tone flash along with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
