The star Portuguese striker due to allegations of tax evasion in the amount of 14.7 million euros to the closing of the summer transfer window plans to leave "real" and to leave Spain.

Madrid prosecutors have filed a complaint to a court, alleging the 32-year-old of a "voluntary" and "conscious" breach of his tax obligations.

The Real Madrid forward wants to leave Spain and a source close to the player says United are very close to his heart.

Ronaldo, who left Old Trafford for Real Madrid eight years ago, caused a stir last week when he asked to leave the club after a record-extending 12th European cup.

Chelsea are also in the hunt for the global superstar, with owner Roman Abramovich seeking to build bridges with Antonio Conte by bringing Ronaldo to Stamford Bridge.

The goalkeeper has been strongly linked with a move to Madrid for several years and it looks as though United are now ready to use their No.1 as bait to pull off a world record swoop for Ronaldo.

The two are now on worldwide duty at the Confederations Cup in Russian Federation and the defender is reportedly trying to influence Ronaldo's decision.

"It has affected me how the media treated Cristiano, the presumption of innocence was not respected", Perez told Onda Cero.

"It's no coincidence that he's in a very important tournament, the Confederations Cup".

Florentino Perez believes Cristiano Ronaldo is innocent of the tax accusations levelled against him.

"He always told me he is at ease in Real Madrid".

Ronaldo, Portugal's all-time leading scorer, is the latest in a long line of soccer players in Spain - among them Barcelona's Lionel Messi and Neymar - to be caught up in cases over tax or transfers.

Does he want to move back to Manchester United or is his preference Paris St-Germain?

THE footballer last played in Manchester United's "Theatre of Dreams" in 2009.

If there is any club capable of spending such insane kinds of money it is Manchester United, so don't be surprised if it happens.
