Philadelphia 76ers Talking Draft Pick Trade

Philadelphia chose Ben Simmons with first pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, Allen Iverson in 1996 and Doug Collins in 1973.

The Los Angeles Lakers were taking offers for the No. 2 pick a few weeks ago, but now, they have taken it off the market, according to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne. "We felt it was very close in the top handful of players; we still feel that way". That came to them via the Nik Stauskas trade, one of the strangest in recent National Basketball Association history. All this would do is push Boston's first round draft pick to the 2019 draft.

"I think he's supertalented, superexplosive", said Cal guard Jabari Bird of Pac-12 rival Fultz following Monday's Sixers workout. In addition to the picks received from the 76ers, the Celtics also have all of their own first-rounders, plus the Brooklyn Nets' 2018 first-round pick, and a future first-round pick from the Grizzlies.

The 76ers make an aggressive move that promises to land them the top player in the draft.

The Celtics are expected to be very much a part of the conversation of moving George, but they might be hampered by his infatuation with the Los Angeles Lakers. The Celtics are in a great position now since they have another future first-round pick and they secured a top three pick in this very special draft.

While the 76ers appear to be targeting Fultz, the Celtics are rumored to be looking to trade down to draft forward Josh Jackson.

Adding Hayward could potentially be the start of something special for the Celtics.

Butler averaged 23.9 points, 6.2 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game last season. "We feel like we have a core of young players in place, that will be significantly stronger once a decision is made on Thursday night and the draft selection is made One thing we're going to continue to address and we did last season, was bring in some veteran presence".

With Thomas, the Celtics didn't necessarily need a point guard - which is the piece Philadelphia apparently wanted most. Fultz would join Jahlil Okafor, Joel Embiid and Simmons. The general manager and team mutually parted ways on Monday when owner Dan Gilbert said Griffin's contract will not be extended once it expires June 30, AP reports. Team Africa will be captained by the Lakers' Luol Deng, who is from the South Sudan, and Atlanta's Thabo Sefolosha, whose father is from South Africa.

Not counting 2017's first-rounder, the Celtics hold seven first-round picks through 2019.

Kevin Durant is reportedly declining his player option for the 2017-18 season with the intention of re-signing with the Warriors.

Griffin's departure comes on the anniversary of the Cavs' dramatic Game 7 win over Golden State, capping a historic comeback that gave Cleveland its first major professional sports championship since 1964.
