Cristiano Ronaldo celebrates after Real's victory over Juventus in the UEFA Champions League final.

Ronaldo produced a match-winning display in Cardiff on Saturday, scoring twice to lead Madrid to a 4-1 win over Juventus and their 12th European crown.

"He (Zidane) is the only one to win two consecutive Champions Leagues", added Perez.

"The 12th of a Madrid for the ages", said El Mundo to hail Real's dominance of Europe's premier club competition.

"Thanks to the determination we showed I'm so very happy".

"This season was wonderful again, last season was awesome".

"Then we have Confederations Cup (in Russia)".

"The team has worked hard from the first minute...we have done a marvellous double".

"I don't see why we can't be in that company".

"It's fabulous, no-one had done it", said France coach Deschamps of Zidane's achievement.

'It's not the moment to speak about that, ' he said when asked about the criticism. "I speak already a few times about that".

Ronaldo isn't immune to criticism and when asked about how certain fans in the Bernabeu have reacted to him this season, he simply said that the "numbers don't lie".

Team-mate Luka Modric believes Real are set to dominate European football for some time yet.

"I feel like this is the best team in history", Alvaro Mora, a fan who had travelled over 500 kilometres from the southern city of Almeria to take in the celebrations, told AFP.

"After we conceded the second goal, we should have stayed in the game, we should have kept playing, we should have been mentally tougher".

'I always try to do my best for the team and things are going well.

While the Italians equalized soon after with Mario Mandzuci's stunning overhead kick, it was the Spanish team who kicked on in the second half.

However, the former Tottenham player only played only 13 minutes in it and it was his first appearances in a while after he suffered an injury against Barcelona on April 23.
