Ronaldo says he will not pay tax bill

Angel Di Maria has been handed a one-year prison sentence and fined £1.76 million after admitting tax fraud.

Angel Di Maria agreed to a deal with Spain's state prosecutor on Wednesday in which the former Real Madrid forward admitted to two counts of tax fraud of nearly 1.3 million euros ($1.4 million) in exchange for a lighter sentence.

According to El Confidencial, the Paris Saint-Germain winger will plead guilty to two counts of tax fraud whilst at Real Madrid following an agreement between his lawyers and the public prosecutor.

The document formalizing the deal between the parties said that Di Maria used a company in Panama to avoid tax.

Speaking to Gol regarding the speculation surrounding his compatriot, the former Real Madrid and Barcelona player said that "nobody is indispensable" at the Bernabeu - not even Ronaldo.

Reports had said Ronaldo was considering moves from Spain to England following the harassment by the Spanish tax authorities.

In November past year, Spain's prosecutor's office alleged back of this claim and later the winger admitted the guilt.
