Ryan Seacrest Earning Less Than Katy Perry On American Idol Reboot

Obviously, this salary is far lower than the $25 million that Katy Perry is getting to be a judge, but we don't think that anyone out there expected that Ryan was going to get that kind of money.

TV host and radio personality Ryan Seacrest is thought to be in the midst of signing a contract to return as host on the new version of American Idol, with TMZ recently reporting he's set to earn between $10-15 (£8-12) million to appear alongside popstar Katy. ABC offered him $10 million and after some back-and-forth negotiations, they settled somewhere in between, although sources tell the site that the amount is closer to $10 million than $15 million.

So, probably quite literally HALF of what Perry is making to judge.

The show ended its 15-season run on Fox a year ago (16) but will be brought back to life by ABC for the 2017/2018 season.

Fremantle, the company that produces the show, just doesn't have enough money for the final two after dropping damn near $40 million on Perry and Seacrest!

The outlet reports producers believe Lionel's outgoing nature and credibility make him the ideal person for the role, though his representatives have yet to comment on the rumour.
