Scotland midfielder Darren Fletcher has reportedly agreed a deal to join Stoke City.

Fletcher suffered health problems in his final few years at Manchester United but did not miss a single Premier League game for Albion after joining in February 2015. Fletcher chipped in with 2 goals and 3 assists and proved a key component in the Baggies' side.

Over the past two seasons with West Brom, Fletcher started 75 of a possible 76 matches.

The former Manchester United star told The Sentinel: "I'm really pleased to get it done so early in the summer".

The Scottish captain will be a nice addition to an already talented Stoke City midfield.

Darren Fletcher will join Stoke when his West Brom contract ends this summer.

"It's all happened incredibly quickly, but I am delighted to be here".

The Scotland worldwide will join up with the club on July 1 after failing to be offered a new contract at the Hawthorns.

Fletcher spent the bulk of his career at Manchester United, progressing through the youth ranks before winning five Premier League titles, two EFL Cups, an FA Cup, the 2007-08 Champions League and the 2008 Club World Cup.

"The gaffer was a fantastic player, and I have had the pleasure of working under some tremendous managers throughout my career, and Mark will be another one of those".

What has Fletcher had to say?

At 33 years of age, he is by no means a young player, however, he is most certainly still a player of quality, and Stoke will be very happy with this piece of business.
