An arrest was made Tuesday in connection with the shooting death of a 10-month-old Houston boy last week, according to police.

Jared Alexander Balogun, 24, is charged with capital murder.

Investigators said a 22-year-old man was taking out his trash and helping with his son, Messiah, walk at Nob Hill East Apartments when three men approached him. As the father ran, the boy was hit.

Court records did not list an attorney for Balogun, who was set to appear in court on Thursday.

Police said the father ran up to the driver of a vehicle in the parking lot and yelled for help.

Assistant Police Chief Matt Slinkard says Balogun confessed to police his involvement in the shooting, and the infant's father also identified him as one of the gunmen. However, police say they are still looking for two more suspects.

Police said the suspects may have been shooting at Messiah and his dad as retaliation for a previous argument they had with the baby's father.
