The town of North Attleboro is seeking $93,340.40 in unpaid property taxes for former National Football League star Aaron Hernandez's home.

North Attleborough Treasurer Christopher Sweet told The Sun Chronicle that the unpaid taxes date to 2014. Hernandez purchased the home in 2012 for $1.3 million.

The home is in tax title status, and a lien must be paid before it can be sold.

Hernandez hanged himself in prison back in April while serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole for murder. "A separate owner under the entity Avy Jay LLC is charged with $75,259 at the same property", the paper reported.

Rumors surfaced that there was an offer to buy the house last month but the sale reportedly fell through.

"Though tragedy struck both families involved in the events of Hernandez's suicide and conviction, the lack of justice served to Odin Lloyd and his family can never be reversed", Ross said.
