That same wind will keep temperatures at the shore cooler, with highs only near 80 degrees. A few spots will reach 90!

Tonight we'll see scattered showers and a few t-storms, but rain should fade after 11PM.

"The heat and humidity will peak on Sunday as many head outdoors to fire up the barbecue, play a game of golf or go fishing for Father's Day", he added, noting that people "need to limit their exertion during the heat of the day".

Monday will be another warm and humid day, but strong thunderstorms are possible during the afternoon and evening.

The weather this afternoon and night will be much like earlier today. Cooling off a little next week with highs in the 70's. Most of the day will be partly sunny, hazy and warm with temperatures well into the 80s and dew points in the 60s.

Showers and thunderstorms across the region will diminish early this evening with the loss of daytime heating. Some storms will become strong and most likely severe at times for parts of central and eastern Kentucky. By mid week expect rain chances around 30 percent with afternoon temperatures in the upper 80s.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy. Isolated shower.

Thursday: Partly sunny. Chance for a shower or thunderstorm.

Cloud cover on Sunday afternoon will make temperatures slightly lower, but, as is always the case during north Alabama summers, Weber suggests that people "out and about should drink plenty of fluids and stay as hydrated as possible".

Saturday: Mostly cloudy. Chance for showers or thunderstorms.

Our next weather maker is a weak cold front that should pass through the Valley on Monday.
