The former Lyon man joined the club on Wednesday (7 July) for a fee of €60m (52.6m, $68m), making him the Gunners' club-record transfer signing.

Lacazette has been in prolific form for the French club over the past three years and fired 37 goals in all competitions last season.

Ozil, whose own future remains the subject of speculation with only a year left on his current contract, is relishing the opportunity to create chances for such a clinical finisher, having set up some 42 Premier League goals since moving from Spain.

"I'm really looking forward to it", he told Arsenal's official website.

But at the same time we still hear about how hard it is to sign and/or keep the really top players if you are not winning or at least getting close to major trophy honours each year.

"From what I've heard, he's meant to be very good, always hungry for goals and ice-cold when he gets into a scoring position".

"I hope that he will be able to take us further with his goals. I'm sure he's happy to be here and to be able to play with us, and we're pleased to be able to assist him and help him to score as many goals as possible".

Frustrated at his lack of game time, with the 28-year-old's last start for Arsenal coming in the FA Cup in February, Perez could return to Deportivo La Coruna this summer. With the transfer from Lyon this week of Alexandre Lacazette he can certainly make a case, and it looks like the club are not done yet, with players like Mahrez and Lemar strongly linked and the very highly rated Kolasinac already signed on a free.

But Arsenal have been left stunned by Sanchez's wage demands - and suitors Bayern Munich have now walked away, leaving City as the only likely destination for the 28-year-old Chilean.
