Allen Iverson's triumphant return to Philadelphia was less-than-climactic.

The former 76er and Detroit Piston is the biggest former NBA star associated with the league which runs 3-on-3 basketball games featuring former NBA players.

"To all my fans out there, based on advice from my doctor, I will not be playing in the game tonight for the Big3", Iverson said. "I will be there to coach my team and beat Dr. J's team, I will be interacting with all my fans, and we'll have a great time. I love you fans for supporting me all of the years up to date, and I'll see you when I get there". Many were upset that Iverson didn't take the court and chants of "we want Iverson" spread throughout the arena.

However, the city of Philadelphia was not left totally empty handed as Iverson's team matched up against another local legend in former 76ers swingman Julius Erving, who coaches the Tri-State team.

"I'm glad I had a chance to come back home", Iverson said following the pregame introductions. "I love you for supporting me throughout my career and still today you're still supporting me".
