"We continue to see aggressive fire behaviour out there, especially for fires that are burning in fairly thick timber", Skrepnek said.

Mr. Skrepnek said on Wednesday afternoon he was not yet sure if those pictured had been identified.

But with a hot, dry week in the forecast and a fire season expected to continue throughout the summer, that could quickly change. He also said individuals on lakes are interfering with firefighting efforts.

The province has already brought in about 300 personnel from across the country.

"The Mars is an iconic aircraft and I recognize people have a lot of nostalgia and respect for it quite frankly. It's our understanding as well that the Mars is now being repaired and wouldn't be operationally ready until mid-August". There have been 7,886 people registered at reception centres and 3,500 people are using lodging, primarily around Prince George.

"If a person has the ability to make their own decision and they are over the age of 19, we will not force them to leave the home", Linteau said.

RCMP officers from all around the province are being deployed to the southeast and north districts, Sgt. Annie Linteau said.

However, Linteau said there have been no children that have been removed from any properties. While municipal fire departments extinguish house and structural fires-from embers that land on rooftops or power lines-the unified command falls to the B.C. Wildfire Service.

"They are engaged in a variety of duties. They are managing traffic congestion, road safety and general emergency response".

British Columbia officials say they will investigate after photos were posted to social media that depicted uniformed firefighters around a roaring campfire - despite a widespread ban due to high-risk wildfire conditions.

Speaking to the incidents of looting that have been reported upon, Linteau said the RCMP are monitoring those closely.

"It's always possible that certain properties could be affected by criminal activity and we invite anyone who sees suspicious activity to phone their local police department immediately". "We are going to be investigating".

"There is an open burning and campfire ban in place across the entire province and that ban applies to everyone".

To fight the blaze, firefighters are cutting down hazardous trees around the fire's perimeter. There are 183 fires burning in B.C. today, down from 219 yesterday.
