The New York Knicks are still trying to find a way to trade Carmelo Anthony, but they are being careful about not sounding too desperate to deal the 33-year-old superstar.

The Knicks may or may not have Carmelo Anthony on their roster next season, but a buyout isn't an option.

"No", he said Monday during a news conference as he was joined by new general manager Scott Perry and head coach Jeff Hornacek.

The Knicks have been in contact with other teams about dealing Melo, the Knicks president confirmed. Mills said that if a trade made sense he would move Anthony, but he could "easily be part of the team". There were trade talks with the Houston Rockets last week, according to sources, but those talks reportedly were put on hold as the new GM was brought on board.

"If there's an opportunity that works for Carmelo and works for us, then we'll look at some kind of trade", Miolls said.

However, and perhaps most notably, Mills stated he did not disagree with former team president Phil Jackson's choice to select French point guard Frank Ntilikina with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.
