One woman found this out the hard way while trying to sneak 102 iPhones from Hong Kong into mainland China, specifically Shenzhen-where, ironically, many iPhones are made at the huge Foxconn plant. When she was searched, they found four layers of iPhones wrapped around her torso and waist, sealed in plastic and securely fitted. The found 102 iPhones and 15 luxury watches in a total haul weighing over 44 pounds.

The vast majority of devices appear to be from the iPhone 6 family, based on size and antenna shape.

Black market devices are apparently quite popular in China due to the additional cost that taxes and other levies introduce. It's now unclear whether the woman was acting alone, or if she is part of a larger smuggling operation. According to Apple Insider, it's not uncommon for devices to sell for up to 30 percent above retail.

One final note: This smuggler doesn't even hold the unofficial record most smuggled iPhones caught at Shenzhen. Impressive, no? Tell that to the man who was just arrested, allegedly with 146 iPhones strapped on him.
