Cornyn Suggests They Need Dem Cooperation to Get Health Care Done

The newest Obamacare repeal bill in the Senate still includes the steep Medicaid cuts that the House bill did. "We need Senator McCain in more ways than one".

He said that a healthcare system should not be built around emergency room visits because "that's not a sustainable model, and we're better than that".

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office estimated the bill would cut Medicaid by almost $800 billion by 2026, and would cut Medicaid 35 percent come 2036.

The letter also demands that Republicans not bring the bill to the Senate floor until receiving a complete score from the Congressional Budget Office.

But Democrats, who are powerless to stop the bill unless more Republicans defect, are gleefully seizing on the opportunity the delay provides to hammer their GOP colleagues for not holding a single public hearing on the massive legislation. Yet, again, must we remind everyone how Democrats passed Obamacare before they "found out what was in it?".

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., and Sen.

The new version was crafted to satisfy the Republican Party's various elements, including moderates anxious about Americans who would be left without medical coverage and hard-line conservatives who demand less government regulation of health insurance. Unless and until we replace the weak-kneed Republican leadership of Mitch McConnell, and the RINOs who keep electing him Majority Leader, with principled limit government constitutional conservatives like Ted Cruz and Mike Lee Obamacare is going to have to be repealed one failing provision at a time.

Two of the country's largest insurance providers called an amendment from Sen.

The bill unveiled Thursday included a re-calibrated version of that proposal that would allow people to purchase lower cost health insurance plans that cover three primary care visits a year and cap their out-of-pocket costs.
