Gas prices decline across the U.S., except AR

In the Bradenton-Sarasota area, prices averaged $2.06 a gallon to start the week, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 308 area gas outlets.This compares with the national average of $2.24 a gallon.

Fuel prices for the Houston area dipped again, leaving the regional average right at $2.00 per gallon, slightly cheaper seasonally than nearly historically low prices of a year ago.

The national average has decreased 5 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 3.3 cents per gallon higher than this day a year ago. The most costly gallon of gas in the state was recorded in West Palm Beach where the fuel was averaging $2.24 per gallon, AAA officials said. The lowest prices were seen in Tampa where the average cost of a gallon of gas was running at $2.01. According to the Energy Information Administration's report for the week ending on July 7th, gasoline demand did not hit an all-time high last week.

Midland Odessa- $2.08/g, down 2.4 cents per gallon from last week's $2.11/g.

One thing that could affect prices is an upcoming special meeting July 27 by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries.

"It remains a bit of a mystery what, if anything, they may decide, but all eyes will be focused on any policy changes or production changes", DeHaan said.

Wichita- $2.11/g, up 7.1 cents per gallon from last week's $2.04/g.

There were four gas stations in the Jacksonville area that were selling gas for less than $2 per gallon as of Monday with the rest reporting prices above that mark.
