Have 'Harry Potter' fans spotted a sly reference in 'Game of Thrones'?

Jim Broadbent joined the cast of "Game of Thrones" as Archmaester Ebrose.

According to The Independent, fans of both Game of Thrones and Harry Potter were sent into a frenzy during the season seven premiere of the HBO hit series when the former seemed to reference JK Rowling's wizarding world.

The moment arrived in a scene between characters Samwell Tarly (John Bradley) and archmaester Marwyn, who is in charge of training him at the Citadel.

Harry Potter fans were quick to spot the stark similarity as the Hogwarts' library also features a similar area known as "the Restricted Section" which contains risky books on dark magic.

Unfortunately for Sam, he has a long way to go before he's an official Maester, and the tasks he performs along the way are even less pleasant than the tasks Arya Stark performed at the House of Black and White. But Sam wants more than the soul-crushing work of cleaning up the maesters's bedpans, and asks the archmaester about the library's restricted section, which he sees every time he returns a tome to the stacks. That information would have been available only in the Hogwarts library's restricted section, and Madam Pince wouldn't have let students study up on them "for a bit of light reading", as Hermione would say.

Slughorn knows a thing or two about restricted sections, too; Potterheads likely remember that he was the one who told Tom Riddle about horcruxes, one of the darkest kinds of magic.
