An excessive heat watch starts tomorrow and lasts through Saturday with heat index values up to 110° during that time frame. You'll still need to water your lawns and plants as the next best chance for rain comes by the end of the week. As for rain chances, there are model differences throughout the week and will details them below.

The heat got really intense Wednesday through Friday with highs near 100°. Overnight lows will be in the low to mid 70s areawide.

Tonight mostly clear with a small chance of an isolated shower/storm in north-central Kansas otherwise dry with lows in the low 70s with southeast winds around 5 miles per hour. We are going to see this with our current situation as several impulses move across the state the next 48 hours along the front.

Tomorrow mostly sunny with highs in the mid 90s. Tracking a weak secondary front that could bring a shower or storm Monday afternoon. All other models keep the rain in southeast Nebraska or clipping areas along HWY 36. Highs Saturday will be in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Highs have been in the 90s since Monday. Due to the muggy conditions, it felt like 107° Thursday and Friday.
