Details about Ortiz's role are being kept under wraps. While wrapping the second season of Rosewood, she booked a major recurring role on the current second season of the U.S. drama series Shooter opposite Ryan Phillippe, which is now airing. ABC Studios will be producing the series. Even though the hospital in "Grey's Anatomy" is said to be located in Seattle, the filming actually takes place in Los Angeles.

It's been a hot minute since ABC announced a new Grey's Anatomy spin-off was in the works, and fans have been waiting as patiently as possible for any updates.

The publication also noted that the scenes being filmed in the city will not only be featured in episode 1, titled "Break Down the House". Per Entertainment Weekly, the show is mostly there to get some exterior footage with some of the cast members that it can use throughout the season.

The caption that went along with the image teased that this was part of the production of next season, as Pompeo said, "Season 14 I'm coming for you".

Stacy McKee, long-term Grey's writer and executive producer, will serve as the spin-off's showrunner.

Deadline first reported both castings. In 2007, Kate Walsh headlined "Private Practice", but the series was canceled after only six seasons.

The spinoff, which has yet to receive a formal airdate, hails from Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes and her Shondaland partner Betsy Beers. Pictured: Ortizspeaks onstage during the 2016 Latinos de Hoy Awards at Dolby Theatre on October 9, 2016 in Hollywood, California.
